Brad Lidge, a former Cherry Creek High School Alumnus (he played baseball with my husband at CCHS!), was hurt during spring training on February 24. Called "Philadelphia's biggest offseason acquisition," this former Houston pitcher told the Associated Press that he "caught my spike in the mound." For those of you who don't understand sports lingo (present company included), this means, as I understand it, that he pulled something during pitch practice.

Brad Lidge Hurt - Oh My!
On February 25, Lidge underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee to repair a torn meniscus. He is expected to be sidelined for a few weeks, but hopes to be back in the swing of things for opening day on March 31.
DCN wishes him a speedy recovery!
