Denver Born Singer to Show True "Colors" on Broadway

Denver born Grammy-award winning R&B singer, India.Arie (pictured right), today announced that she will star in the Broadway revival of "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow is Enuf." The play, which will be produced by the outspoken and sometimes bossy View co-host, Whoopi Goldberg, and DreamTeam Entertainment, is about seven women of color from the African Diaspora.

The show is slated to premier in early July.

India.Arie lived in Colorado until age 13, when she moved to Atlanta with her mom after a divorce divided the family.

DCN is also intrigued by the fact that India.Arie's music is featured in the the new Sex and the City movie trailer. The song, The Heart of the Matter, is a soulful reprisal of this Don Henley classic.
